From The Winemaker
Deep ruby and nearly opaque, this 2022 Texas High Plains Aglianico shows an expressive nose of licorice, forest floor, ripe blueberry, and boysenberry, layered with subtle oak-driven notes of cedar and baking spice.
Full-bodied on the palate, it delivers black cherry, dried cranberry, black truffle and dark fruits alongside a distinctive biscotti-like toastiness. Firm, structured tannins and bright acidity provide balance and lift, leading to a long, savory finish.
Bright acidity typical of the Texas High Plains lifts the wine, keeping it balanced despite its density. Savory elements—iron, dried herbs, and a faint smoky edge—carry through a long, persistent finish marked by dark fruit, spice, and earthy depth.
A powerful yet polished wine with both immediate appeal and excellent aging potential.
